Assignment for knowledge

All throughout my teaching when delivering on the apprenticeship standard for plumbing and heating I regularly give the apprentices an assignment every week. This is to aid them in gathering more knowledge on relation to their studies. It assists in their OTJH’s (off the job hours) and adds to their TQT (total qualification time). I call the assignments ISP’s (independent study pathway). The themes will vary week to week and they are stored on the training centres VLE and are completed by the apprentices and then marked with feedback from the tutor, with guidance and development points where needed. A lot of them will have links to videos or reading materials and questions relating to that topic, article or other means of information. I have attached a couple of examples to this blog post, if you wish to have a go or discuss the idea please comment and I am happy to discuss and offer support.
