What a wonderful week it was to showcase apprentices within the sector
Across many social media platforms there was a wide range of stories celebrating how an apprenticeship transforms lives. I am passionate about this in my local area and beyond. How can this continue across Greater Manchester and nationally? Behind the scenes there is so much work that goes into making an impact into every apprenticeship, full time course and others that attend colleges and training centres up and down the country.
Making a difference is continually being worked on in centres and collaboration is key. That is why I have begun working with a range of key professionals from up and down the country to assist one another and develop resources and curriculum to suit all levels, qualifications and most importantly all students who are seeking to improve their skills and careers.
Here are some examples of that collaboration

Tutor support group to enable centres from up and down the country to discuss how to approach developing curriculum content within the low carbon heating and hot water sector. I have been inundated with messages on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/ian-hall-mciphe-38276860?lipi=urn%3Ali%3Apage%3Ad_flagship3_profile_view_base_contact_details%3Bf1mlzHOaTj%2BemHU7oAqCDQ%3D%3D
I am always available to support and discuss our ideas on here, with another group on the platform for plumbing tutors to discuss issues and check with one another to establish a standardised method of working within the sector.

These are just a couple of examples in which FE and training centres are choosing to collaborate with one another. We are all working together along with AO’s (awarding organisations) such as City and Guilds, NOCN and industry experts and employers to maintain current practices within everything that we do.
Collaboration

Innovation

Hopefully with some of the images and links seen in this blog, it is clear that the development and commitment of all involved in the delivery of apprenticeships is there for all to see. Commitment to engaging with employers, industry professionals and training centres is key to maintaining the regional and national skills development and keeping apprenticeships as a playing a key role in this. In my previous blogs you will see a range of key stakeholders who we are working with to enable us to continue this journey.
