Lots to do in 2025. New apprentices joining the Low Carbon Heating Technician on a block release program.
This apprenticeship standard has already been running from September 2024 with day release apprentices.
The block release apprentices will be employed by Daikin and Robert Heath.
New & existing resources
Thanks to our local housing association Bolton at home who we partner with we now have a wide range of resources within the centre adding to our already excellent facilities that we had installed four years ago. Such names as Eco forest
Above were the existing manufacturers and now we have added more resources to our extensive range.

Thanks to our partners at Bolton at Home who kindly donated a number of Daikin units ASHP’s and a range of Pre-plumbed cylinders.
What an exciting time to join us on this venture. We also have some excellent mobile resources being delivered to the centre by Quantum training rigs which was funded by the MCS foundation due to the department Bolton College having registered apprentices on the LCHT standard and being eligible to apply for the grant for training material. Such a fantastic initiative by the foundation. This is also available to employers of LCHT apprentices MCS foundation
New curriculum materials developed
New materials continue to be developed by the college staff and HallEdu working with employers such as Grountherm DRS mechanical Bolton at Home Radical Heating Plumbtec
All of the employers are currently and have been involved in developing our curriculum for the apprenticeship for the day release apprentices. With Daikin now assisting the college team in additional content to the block release resources to suit their needs. All this is part and parcel of the development of training plans to meet employer needs in all areas of plumbing, heating and low carbon systems.
