LCHT apprenticeship update

Approaching the end of year 1 on the LCHT apprenticeship at Bolton College

What a time we have had during the first year on this journey with some fantastic apprentices joining us from local companies in and around our area.

With many more companies joining us from other regions and companies coming soon. What have we covered in year 1 of the apprenticeship?

An introduction to the course/standard

An initial aptitude test

A basic glossary of terms, that are frequently used in the industry

Year 1 practical training manual

Introduction to the work log of best practice to ready the apprentices for the KSB collation in year 3 to evidence their journey

Classroom delivery in year 1 covering a range of topics with, formative and summative assessments as the apprentices progress

Above are examples of delivery material and formative assessments as the apprentices have been progressing through year 1. Below are some examples of the summative assignments that the apprentices are undertaking now.

Written question paper covering classroom delivery from year 1

Skills test covering year 1 content

The first year on the LCHT apprenticeship has been very enjoyable and the team and I look forward to welcoming back the first year group to their second year in September as well as welcoming our new year one group.
