29.4.24 LCHT meeting

Fantastic discussions concerning curriculum development and being September ready to offer the LCHT standard apprenticeship Real deep discussions into how colleges/training centres begin to deliver the standard while adhering to the duties and KSB’s set out by the employer group. Bolton College hosted the event and Ian Hall outlined to other colleges and employers how the college will be delivering the standard and when, where and how certain KSB’s will be delivered, tracked and mapped across from the milestones set out to monitor the candidates journey and recorded onto the E-portfolio of choice. I shared my training plans, practical training manuals and theory training guidance documents with the group, this event really put a number of centres at ease when the actual process of beginning delivery on year 1, 2 and 3 were explained and broken down via the slide decks and utilising the training manuals and mapping methods discussed and showcased. It was agreed that perhaps it may be good practice to plan a few more of these meetings around the country, in order to show how the new standard can be delivered which can only enhance the uptake from the 17 centres who are currently showing on the list to offer the standard at present (screen shot taken 2.5.24).

Martyn Raine from MCS who was in attendance at the meeting is to plan some more network events and is sharing college contact details with staff, so the sharing good practice initiative can continue. If anyone wishes to discuss the information further, please email me ian.hall@boltoncc.ac.uk
